 The Mexican Revolution began 100 years ago, yet Mexico today remains a nation marred by poverty, repression, and imperial influence. The Revolution was one of history's great uprisings of the oppressed. While it struck a blow against colonialism's legacy (and ongoing imperialist oppression), it ultimately left capitalism to the agenda of the still future revolution. Its legacy is essential for understanding Mexico today, and the lessons of its struggles and triumphs need to be recovered by working people everywhere.
