Regardless of whether the disappointing politics of lesser-evilism allows the Democrats to hold on to a few congressional seats on November 2, there is no doubt that right wing extremism has gained influence and strength in US politics in the last few years.
While most people see Tea Partiers for the xenophobic nutjobs they are, their ideas will gain legitimacy if left unchecked.
